Rule review pending — no calculator
The directory marks unverified state rules honestly and does not generate a result for them. A Class XII year is a progression estimate, not an admission offer or an examination outcome.
How school entry works
The reviewed calculator currently covers Kendriya Vidyalaya’s Class I minimum-age route. It must not be used as a default for state-board schools or every CBSE-affiliated school.
KVS uses six years as at 31 March and explicitly includes children born on 1 April. The estimate shows the first age-eligible cohort; upper-age limits, admission priorities and available places are separate.
Before you enrol
States can use different reference dates, school-system rules and transitional arrangements. Obtain the current official admission circular for the exact school and year before planning an application.
What this estimate does not decide
The directory marks unverified state rules honestly and does not generate a result for them. A Class XII year is a progression estimate, not an admission offer or an examination outcome.
Questions parents ask
Is age six enough to determine entry everywhere?
No. The reference date, applicable school system, upper-age limit and transitional rules also matter.
Can I use the KVS result for a private CBSE school?
No. CBSE affiliation alone does not establish that the school follows KVS admission rules.
Why are some locations labelled pending?
Their current local rule has not been verified sufficiently to support a calculation. No cutoff is invented.
Does a timeline reserve a place?
No. Registration, selection priorities, age ceilings and seats must be checked with the school.
