A planning tool for parents

School Entry Calculator is an independent educational information website. It is not a school, education department or admissions authority. Our calculators estimate normal school entry and progression from the information you provide and the rules described on each page.

Confirm before making enrolment decisions

A result does not establish eligibility, reserve a place or guarantee admission. Check the official sources linked on the relevant page and confirm your child's situation with the school or education authority before applying, moving or making other commitments.

District policies, school types, residency, early entry, delayed starts, assessments and individual circumstances can change an outcome. A year-by-year timeline assumes normal progression unless the calculator explicitly explains another route. It does not predict examination results, qualifications or graduation. Future rules and school arrangements may change.

Coverage and corrections

We identify limitations and places where a verified calculation is unavailable. Source and review dates describe the evidence we used; they are not a guarantee that a rule has remained unchanged. If this site conflicts with current official guidance, use the official guidance and confirm it with the relevant authority.

To report an error, email the page address, the rule you believe needs correction and an official source if available. Please avoid sending identifying information about your child.

Using and sharing results

You may use the calculators and print or download results for personal planning. Check documents before sharing them because they can contain a birthday and location. Do not present an estimate as an official school decision. Please link to the relevant page when referring others to our guidance.

Advertising and links

Advertising, when enabled, supports the website and is separate from education rules and sources. We do not control third-party websites, their services or their privacy practices. An advertisement or external link does not itself constitute an endorsement.

Availability and your rights

We aim to keep this service accurate and available but cannot promise uninterrupted access or that every error will be identified immediately. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
